We outfit our world with indicators: is the car on, or not? Is the router on and is it connected to the internet? Is my phone charging? Am I using data? Did I receive a text? Whether we use LED lights, sounds, vibrations, or onscreen indicators; we have them because we need to do something with this information. We can’t possibly know without them.
People give us indicators, too. When their behavior doesn’t match up to the standard you create for yourself, when they speak down to others, when they lack accountability, maybe bad luck just seems to disproportionately shine on them. Perhaps they spend time in uplifting discussions, take on challenges, claim accountability, and are constantly working toward what they believe in.
Those are all indicators and we get to choose what we do once we notice them.
